Perfect for quiet evenings or a soothing bedtime ritual, this cardamom milk is a timeless classic served with grace.

Ingredients

        2 cups full-fat milk

3 to 4 Emperor Akbar Cardamom pods, lightly crushed, or 1/4 tsp Emperor Akbar Cardamom powder

2 to 3 tsp sugar or honey, adjust to taste

        A few saffron strands, optional

Chopped almonds or pistachios for garnish, optional

Method

Pour the milk into a saucepan and add the lightly crushed Emperor Akbar Cardamom pods. Bring it to a gentle boil, then lower the heat and simmer for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally so the milk takes on the cardamom’s aroma. Add the sugar and saffron, if using, and stir until fully dissolved. Strain into serving glasses or mugs, garnish with chopped almonds or pistachios if desired, and serve hot. The result is a smooth, fragrant milk drink with a comforting finish.
